Why we exist

Our mission

To make professional, individualized coaching the standard, not the luxury, and to prove that a gym can look after the whole person and treat coaching as a real profession at the same time. We believe strong is a skill anyone can build with the right plan and the right people beside them. We are building a place where busy people get the attention they would get from a private coach, the structure of a real system, and a team that is still here for them years later, and where the coaches who make that possible have careers worth staying for.

Real training. Better living. For our members and the people who coach them.

Co Owner and Operations Manager Kim Knaisch specializes in keeping Lakeland Athletic Club running smooth. Kim finds time in between running the gym and her work as a full time commercial banker. She loves to also be involved in the community by attending local events and volunteering for a variety of nonprofit organizations. Her favorite part of running the gym is seeing members forming real friendships out on the floor. "I love that our members have formed social connections, and I see them doing other activities outside the gym," she says. "They are each other's motivation to keep going, and they all care about each other's success, whether it is in a workout or in their jobs."

Where this goes

What life looks like six months from now

You wake up before the alarm and you are not dreading the day. You pick up your kid without bracing. You walk into the gym and people know your name. The workout is still hard, but you are not scared of it anymore. That is what strong for life actually means, and it is closer than you think.

★★★★★
The best CrossFit gym and coaches anywhere. I was a member of this gym for over 4 years and recently moved to Gainesville. Nothing compares to the knowledge of the coaching staff. The facility is large and well outfitted with the best equipment and WODs are strategically created for overall performance and can be scaled to any level.

This gym has given me the best experience and instruction on fitness I've ever received. The owner greets me by name every time he sees me, and all of the coaches have been incredibly helpful. They take the time with everyone. You can tell Mike cares deeply about his business and so do all of his staff, making it an awesome experience and gym to work out in.

Since beginning my journey at Lakeland Athletic Club over a year ago, I have seen a decrease of almost 30 pounds on the scale. My body fat percentage has gone from 42.1 percent to 26.2 percent and my muscle mass has increased. My time at Lakeland Athletic Club is not something I do to check a box. It is something I do because I believe what they teach and provide gives me a quality of life I did not even know was possible.
